Left the house at 0530 headed to the Pentagon for a client meeting when my radio cut out. Initial thought was that there was an interuption in the broadcast.... That was until my internal light went dim, and the radio light started blinking. Headlights started strobing and the engine started bucking... On 66... Through learning the new nuances of how it was driving, I finally got it home....two hours later... Anyone want to help change an alternator?? Sent from my SGH-T959V using ProBoards

naaa, Charge the battery so you know you have 12 volts running your 12 volt system, if everything is bright as the sun, then you know your battery isn't getting recharged pointing all fingers to the alternator, in the parlor with the candlestick.

Well, took the alternator out and tested yesterday...it actually passed! So, I put it back in today and got everything reassembled. Test drive went well.... We'll just have to wait and see... Might have to get back on the interstate again and see what happens....
I figure the belt was slipping and didn't return enough juice into the system.... Its good and tight now, I assure you.... What happens if its too tight? Does it wear out the bearing faster?
